A liquid 9% double-chelated copper algaecide. Effective against a wide variety of algal species including Chara. Recommended for use in hard water. No restrictions on water usage or consumption following application. (Application rates: 0.6 to 1.2 gallons per acre-foot of water treated). Do not be fooled when comparing prices or looking at only the percent activity of 8% versus 9% copper. While this equates to a net 12% difference in activity, more realistically, the 0.8 lbs/gal active in other products must be compared to the 0.909 lbs/gal active in Cutrine-Plus. On this basis, Cutrine-Plus is 13.6% more active than copper algaecides containing 0.8 lbs of elemental copper per gallon. Cutrine-Plus is the only patented, chelated copper algaecide available on today's market. Part of the Cutrine-Plus formulation patent is based upon the fact that both monoethanolamine and triethanaolamine are combined in the product in such a way that both solubilization and chelation occur in the production process. A product is produced which has a greater stability (shelf-life), is compatible within a wider range of water qualities, and is less corrosive to application equipment than products containing a single chelating agent. These benefits are provided without any resultant loss in algicidal activity. The 10.5 pH of Cutrine-Plus (the highest in the industry) attests to its compatibility in even extremely alkaline waters.
